In February 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has declared that they would be starting a new endeavor called “An Immigration System for Canada’s Future”. In this new system, engagement between various groups of people and enthusiasts will be included to gather the Canadian public’s opinions and inputs about the immigration system and introduce change for the betterment of the same.
In this press release, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser stated that they are trying to “build a stronger, more adaptive immigration system for Canada’s future.” In this initiative, various communities will be encouraged to participate so that they can create “a diversity of perspectives”. The opinions and suggestions of the people will be taken in collaboration with various educational, governmental, and business organizations so that change can be implemented considering the needs of all kinds of Canadian citizens.
This initiative by IRCC is supposed to be operational throughout 2023 spring. They are planning to launch a survey in March 2023 and will be inviting people to provide their suggestions for the betterment of the immigration system for a bright Canadian future. Since Canada has been going through a labor crisis, initiatives like this are to build a more friendly and suitable immigration process for the immigrants who can contribute to the country with their skills and experiences.
