Quebec Adds New Feature To Its Direct Employer-Immigrant Recruitment Portal
Nadine Girault, Quebec’s Minister of Immigration, Francization and Integration launched a new feature for Quebec’s Direct Employer-Immigrant Recruitment Portal recently. This new feature will allow businesses to offer jobs to immigrants in Quebec as well as from abroad using the data stored in the Arrima system. The functionality is now available to businesses and facilitates the selection of job seekers who can match the needs of the labor market in Quebec.
Businesses Can Directly Go To Official Website with New Feature of Quebec’s Direct Employer-Immigrant Recruitment Portal
With the help of this new feature, businesses can directly access the official website of the ministry, check out the profiles of immigrant job seekers, and also offer them a job. The businesses can also offer the selected candidates help in initiating their immigration process. Companies and business establishments registered in the Registraire des Entreprises Québec (Enterprise Register) can pick up immigrants or recruit workers from international students graduating from Quebec with a temporary, permanent workers or post-graduate work permit. Such companies can also recruit people from Quebec’s ethnocultural minorities.
In its email, the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration (MIFI) wrote, “By making profiles of immigration candidates available to companies, they can more quickly identify the people who best meet their labor needs. The navigation in the Portal is ergonomic and allows the company to view results that are displayed in real-time when it selects its various search criteria. In addition, the interface allows users to save and download their search results and identify their favorites so they can quickly get in touch with them.”
Portal’s Personalized Assistance Service Will Help Companies Select Right Immigration Candidates
The portal will now offer a personalized service that will come into play once the employers get the immigration candidates they want. The companies can go through the various immigration programs and steps to initiate the immigration process for the candidates selected by them. Importantly, this personalized assistance service is available for all the recruitment processes of the Quebec region. The service operational since 2019 is free for everyone.
But to access the services offered on the portal businesses need to create their profile in Arrima. After registering their profile on this online Expression of the Interest management system of Quebec, they can request personalized assistance. The Ministry advisor will reply within five days to this personalized request. After getting access companies can start searching for their kind of immigrant job seekers, store the results, and even contact the right candidates.
However, the companies must keep in mind that although the personalized service can help them initiate the immigration process for the selected candidates it will certainly not speed up the process. The permanent or temporary immigration program will take its due course and time. The main intention of the ministry behind adding this feature is to address the long-standing problem of labor shortages. The officials also believe that introduction of this new feature will help Quebec recover from the economic slowdown post-COVID-19.
