How To Prepare For US Visa Interview? Here's What You Must Know!

US Visa Interview

Preparing for the US Visa interview is the next step after the submission of an application. Once the formalities of submission are complete the National Visa Center will fix your interview appointment. The NVC officials intimate you, your attorney, or agent, and your petitioner through an email about the appointment time and date.

Once you receive the Appointment Letter from the NVC for your interview, you must start preparing for it. To ensure that you appear well prepared for the interview here are a few steps that you must follow:

Take Appointment With Physician For Completing Medical Examination

The first step is to schedule an appointment for yourself and also for each family member appearing for the US visa interview with an authorized physician. You must also schedule this appointment for a derivative applicant who submitted an application for a visa along with you. It is important that the physician must have approval from the embassy referred to as the Panel Physician. In the case, you conduct medical examination from any other physician the reports will not be considered valid by the concerned authorities.

Along with the medical examinations, you must also take the necessary vaccines before your US  Visa interview date. The Panel Physician most probably will directly send the result of your medical examination to the embassy. Also in some cases, the doctor will handover the result in a sealed envelope to you which you must produce at the time of the interview. In any case, you must not open this envelope and should hand it over only to the consular officer.

Collect All Documents Necessary For the Interview

After completing the medical examination, the next step is to gather all your documents. Irrespective of his age, each applicant must possess certain documents at the time of the interview.  These include certified version or original civil documents earlier submitted to NVC and photographs. You do not have to bring the affidavit of support or any financial evidence submitted earlier to the officials.

In case you forget to produce either of these documents or medical examination results at the time of the US Visa interview, the consular will put your visa processing on hold. You will have to reschedule the appointment and submit all the missing items. It can lead to a delay in the issuance of your visa.
