Applying for travelling to Europe during COVID crisis will have its own immigration obstacles, but its not insurmountable. So, if you are applying for a visa to Europe, you will have to submit a few required documents as part of the Schengen Visa application process.

Each Schengen State has listed a few pre-requisites for each purpose of entry in this territory. These requirements are similar to the documents that are required for staying in these states. Listed below is a detailed checklist of the requirements for each category of visa.

The visa requirements change with the purpose of the visit to the region. Additional documents would be required if you are visiting a friend or a relative, during airport transit, for tourist visa, business visa, training visa, medical visa, travelling to join a spouse residing in EU, travelling to participate in an event.

Airport transit:

The applicant has to produce the tickets for the final country, he is planning to visit and a valid visa for the same. If the traveller is visiting a relative, but does not have enough funds to sponsor his travel, he should produce a document of sponsorship from the relative residing in the region. The applicant is required to write about the trip, the places he would visit and the purpose of his stay, along with the time duration.

Documents for a training visa:

The additional certificates that might be asked to produce include the enrolment certificate and a no objection letter from the educational institution where the visa applicant is currently enrolled.

Medical visa for Schengen Countries:

This would require a letter from the doctor of the home country, stating that the applicant needs medical treatment, official confirmation of the treatment or appointment by the receiving medical institution in EU, proof of financial means to pay medical expenses and other related expenses throughout the treatment, which can be supported by bank account statements, letter of sponsorships, proof of advanced payments of the treatment and a verbal note from the Ministry of Health of the applicant’s home country stating that they are willing to bear the covered expenses required for the treatment.
