In a span of three years, there has been an increase in the number of foreign students who are getting enrolled in the St. Clair College, from just 500 to about 6,900 students!
The Reason for Increase in the number of international students to Windsor Canada
According to Ron Seguin who is the vice president of the college and is in charge of international relations, there is a huge demand for Canada, not just as a country, but also in terms of education. The growth in the number of foreign students stands at around 3.3 percent of the population of Windsor-Essex.
St.Clair college gaining immense popularity
The St.Clair college is getting a lot of foreign students from India and China which is similar to the University of Windsor. Students move to Canada for the purpose of education due to the expedited process of Visa in India.
Why More Students are Coming from India to Canada
The students are coming to Canada for an education because of an accelerated Visa process in India. According to Seguin graduates who are part of the two-year program or a program of longer duration in college automatically become eligible for the work permit related to the postgraduate degree of 3 years in Canada. This has boosted the inflow of students from China.
This has become a phenomenon for colleges in Canada. At St.Clair College, there are 6500 foreign students who are from 55 different countries. They attend two campuses located in Windsor in addition to the programs that are provided in Toronto and Chatham. Most of them have enrolled in courses related to business or information technology.
This will bring a lot of diversity as well as the world economy to the institution and is a great economic impact.
Chris Busch, who is the vice president at the University of Windsor’s and is a charge of enrolment management, states that the university has 4000+ foreign students, and the growth is constant.
