Skilled Visa Application (Subclass 189)

Sponsored Visa Application (Subclass 190)
There are various skill requirements in the entire Australia, however, some states or territories have a particular skill-set in mind, which other territories are not interested in.
All these occupations are registered under the sponsored list. To get an approval for this type of an application you need a state-approved nomination or sponsorship.

You need to submit an EOI (Expression of Interest) through the SkillSelect online Immigration system of Australia in order to obtain a nomination from the particular state or territory government agency. The minimum score requirement in the point-based system is 60. Once you qualify in the scoring system, you’ll receive an ITA (Invitation to apply) through subclass 190. You would be expected to apply for the visa within a 60-day period.
Key Differences between Subclass 189 and 190 Work Permit Visa for Australia-
There are a few key differences between both the subclasses, which are mentioned below:
Subclass 189 has about 150+ occupations in its list, whereas subclass 190 has about 5000+ occupations in its list.
- The skilled visa application does not have any restrictions and the applicant can work and live anywhere in Australia, whereas the sponsored visa applicant must serve in the designated territory for a minimum period of 2 years.
- If you apply via the sponsored visa channel, you get a 5-point boost in your skill ranking, whereas in the skilled visa application you get no such benefit.
Processing Fee for Visa subclass 189 and 190
- For an Independent visa applicant, the fee is $3600
- For a Dependent visa applicant over 18 years of age the fee is $1800
- For a Dependent visa applicant under 18 years of age the fee is $900
