It aims to allow more workers for understaffed nursing homes. Also, more workers will be brought for 2020 Tokyo Olympics construction projects in Japan.
Increased number of foreign students to be allowed in Japan—Japan will increase the number of foreign students to stay here. This will be after successful completion of their studies there. As of now, nearly 30 percent of foreign students stay in Japan after study completion. The aim is to increase the percentage to 50 percent.

It was in 2012 that process for giving Japan permanent residency to high skilled professionals started. Till 2015, 4,347 foreigners availed the benefit of the program. This was revealed by Japan Ministry of Justice. The fact that only few skilled professionals availed of the benefit is that Japan is not attractive place for living permanently.
