Canada, 27th August: Are you looking for a job in Canada and want to know which skills are in high demand in Canada?

If yes, then here’s what the findings of a new study reveal.

Top 10 skills Canada employers look for—In a latest survey conducted on 256 Canada employers by Workoplis this spring, nearly one third employers agreed to have increased workforce in the coming year. Finding the suitable candidate for the vacant job position was a big problem, agreed many employers during the survey.

Aspirants of jobs in Canada can get to know about the hot skills being sought by Canada employers in their prospective employees.

As per the VP of Human Resources with Workopolis, Tara Talbot, there is a great curiosity among recent graduates about their job prospects. And similar is the case with employers too since they face a big trouble in filling the vacant job positions too.

Lack of experience—a major hindrance for jobs—When it comes to getting a job in Canada, one of the major hindrance was lack of experience, agreed 38 percent of employers during the survey. This was especially true in case of fresh graduates seeking to get a start in their career.

Lack of education not a problem—Employers, during the survey, also agreed on the fact that lack of education was never a problem while getting employees for the jobs in Canada.

So, we can say that as far as job seekers are concerned in Canada, education levels are found to be rising. However, its the skills and the experience being sought by Canada employers, the survey findings seem to suggest. Skills include soft skills as well as technical skills.

On-the-job experience, technical abilities, interpersonal skills—The survey findings revealed that on-the-job experience, technical abilities and interpersonal skills are what the employers want in prospective employees. Moreover, soft skills outweigh the technical skills, the survey findings state.

Following the are top ten skills looked for by prospective employers in their employees—

So, it much more than just good grades and education credentials when it comes to landing a job in Canada now, stated Talbot.

How can one gain skills for landing a desirable job?—Well, many of the skills being sought by Canada employers can be gained through jobs that are not related directly to one’s career. One can also gained through volunteering.
