CANADA’S NEW IMMIGRATION POLICY FOR 2014 TO FOCUS ON ECONOMIC CLASS

Canada’s 2014 new policy for economic class—In a bid to attract more and more right people to come and live in Canada, Canadian government announced a new policy for the year 2014.
Speaking about the new initiative, Canada immigration minister Chris Alexander said while tabling his annual report that nearly 240,000 and 265,000 Canada permanent residents will be admitted in the nation in the year 2014. It’s quite the same figure as admitted by Canada in the year 2013.

The percentage of economic immigrants(those chosen on the basis of their occupational skills, investment and entrepreneurship) will be 63 percent of the total immigrants, nearly 26.1 percent will for the family class(nearly 68,000 immigrants).
And the remaining 28,400(10.9 percent) will be meant for refugees and others with humanitarian requirements.
Canadians top priority, skilled foreigners for filling skills shortage–The new policy will ensure that Canadians continue to getting the priority for the available job positions in Canada while filing shortage of skilled workforce by recruiting right foreigners, the immigration minister affirmed.
He further added that all such policies will make sure that the long-term prosperity of Canada gets fuelled. Giving details about this, Alexander said the foreign workers are stilled needed in Canada but only after the potential of Canada labor market has been exhausted as well as the potential of Canada’s economic immigration for filling workers’ requirements, he confirmed.
New EOI from 2015—Another noticeable reform announced by Canada government with regard to Canada immigration is the new EOI system. As per the information, the EOI system will be introduced by Canada from 1st January 2015. The ‘Express of Interest System’(EOI) will enable employers to cherry-pick skilled foreigners from the available pool of pre-screened persons.
Reduced Canada immigration backlogs, wait times, better services—Canada government will further make efforts to considerably bring down immigration backlogs and wait times, Alexander. And aspiring immigrants can also look forward to getting better immigration services in the times to come, he maintained while speaking about the efforts by Canada immigration department and Canada government.
Admission ranges for various Canada immigration programs will be provided by the government in a couple of days.
