There will be a new set of guidelines provided to the new immigrants coming to Canada, as announced by the Federal Government.
The inclusions in the new guide
• It would entail the role of Canadian Forces.
• It would talk about the relationship of Canada with England Queen.
• It would also talk about the customs of marriage which a newcomer should do away from.
The Welcome Kit
It would be in the form of a booklet, released by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. The booklet will display facts through colored pictures. There would be testimonials provided by the Immigrants. Overall there is an effort to make it more attractive than it used to be before. And the pictures would display information in an easy way than the words would do.
The availability to the newcomers
The booklet will be available “online”. Copies can be obtained through “settlement service providers” too. These providers are ready to welcome the immigrants at the airport, and a newcomer can obtain his copy right there itself.
The information in the booklet
The booklet emphasizes upon two major areas wherein immigrants are cheated, one is marriage fraud and the other one is human smuggling.
Marriage of Convenience
The booklet clearly warns the immigrants to marry a citizen of Canada merely to get entry into the country. And the warning clearly informs that both the immigrant and the citizen caught into such an act would be liable to severe punishment.
Human Smuggling
The other important issue raised in the booklet is about “human trafficking”. Immigration Department has caught up on many cases wherein people are made to cross borders for some “unsocial and illegal” work or the other.
Especially women and children are being exploited for such activities which need a carpet covering. The Department also makes a request to the people to report such matters to the police if it comes in notice.
A Family law
The booklet talks about “family law” too. And this clearly indicates that a person can come to Canada only if he or she is married to one spouse. And someone married tore than one person even in the past would fail to get and entry in the country.
Apart from this it is clearly mentioned that the country does not encourage unsocial acts like abusing the spouse, forced marriage and female genital mutilation.

The booklet provides adequate information about the role of Canada and its Military forces during First and Second World War.
