Indian L1 Visas denial increases at a high rate

According to the recent facts it has been found that U.S. is denying Indian L1 visas at a higher rate as compared to the other countries.

The latest scenario shows that the Indian L1 visas is being rejected at an increasing rate showing that U.S. is not much interested in the giving Indian professionals a chance to visit and work in the country.

What are L1 visas?

L1 visa is a basically short visa given in the category that allows the foreign professionals to come in the country and work for their professional growth and also complete various specific assignments for their companies. This is issued to those who are specialist in their particular fields and have achieved great heights. These specialists come through this category in the country and help in economic as well as the social growth of the country.

Singling out India:

Facts show that U.S. is specifically leaving out Indian professionals, singling them out from other countries. The figure shows that the visa applications have been drastically rejected down by 28 per cent that too by 25,898 in the year 2011 whereas for other countries it rose by around 15 per cent comparatively. This clearly shows India is being targeted by the authorities out of no reason. Even a report submitted by the National Foundation for American Policy also took notice of it and shows the concern over the edging gap. Such behavior by the authorities is creating worry issues for the Indian software companies. Companies like Infosys, TCS and other major software based industries may be adversely affected by such situation. As their major clientage belongs to U.S. they may have to face strong setback due to such an attitude
towards the country.

Importance L1 visas to Indian Companies:

The IT sector of India is mostly dependent on this category for the success of their business. This category is quiet important to the Indian software companies as through it, they aimed their professionals to get high experience and expertise in their fields. The software companies used to send nearly 35,000 of their Indian employees to U.S. to work on various projects so that they can make full use of their knowledge and specialization. It was also found that around 40 per cent of such visas were granted under this category, but for now the changing behavior is an alert alarm for the companies and they might have to find other ways to send their employees to the country.

Affect on Indian companies:

Indian companies worth $70 billion are at stake if U.S. still continued with such an attitude towards India and the professionals belonging here. For further tightening they have also raised fees structure for H1 and L1 visas which is another setback factor for the companies and tends to adversely affect them.
