To keep a check and control on the increasing frauds, CIC will be initiating and formulating New Citizenship Consultant Act.
Need for New Consultancy Program:
It is very strange to know that currently, the country have no specified rules and regulations under Citizenship Consultancies to have a strict control of these fraudulent activities. So it is the need of the hour to initiate a program specifically lining out the rules for such situations.
It is expected that the formulation of new Citizenship Consultants Act will be very helpful to manage and check the increasing consultancies frauds. Recently the country has witnessed biggest citizenship fraud as per which around thousands of immigrants from all over the world are under the suspicion. Those found guilty have been chucked out of the country. As per the stated figures, still around 6,500 immigrants are under the surveillance procedures laid down by the government. These immigrants are suspected of attempting to acquire the country’s citizenship by skipping the rules and regulations of the country through fraudulent activities.
Implementation of New Consultancy:
According to Jason Kenney, the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, the new plan will soon be into function to save the fraudulent immigration problems of the country. For this a bill has already been moved to the authorities who assure its speedy implementation. The new program is supposed to set up another set of rules and regulations for helping the authorities to uproot the consultancy problems. This new plan promises to solve the existing issue and as well as keep a proper check that such issues are in fire again.
Recent Steps taken by Government to check Frauds:
The government is already taking vigorous steps to stop the ‘Big Problem’ of citizenship trouble going in the country. Government already got a red signal about it in the previous year and has initiated to introduce strict rules for the people providing consultancies and immigration services to the incoming immigrants.
But now some sever rules and regulations are required in this area so the bill to specify it further bill again brought up in the parliament to review and implement it. They are also building up a proper framework for the citizenship consultancies, under which they will work as per the suggested guidelines only and if in case they cross it they have to unfavorable consequences.
As for now such consultancies are not even registered with the authorities that create problems for the government to trace out the fraud. The new program is expected to bring more awareness about it and helpfulness to the government.
