London — Actor Matt Dillon is encouraged by the steps the US is taking to tackle racism but confesses that it continues to be a huge problem in society.
According to contactmusic.com, Dillon played a prejudiced officer in the Oscar winning “Crash” and believes the ethnic diversity of the country is proof that the situation is improving.
He said: “It sounds strange … but there’s something very healthy, something very cathartic about the way America deals with racism because we have such large groups of people from different ethnic backgrounds. But racism is obviously a problem. It’s something that we have dealt with for decades.”
