Mild earthquake jolts central Japan

Tokyo -- An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale jolted central Japan late Sunday. Shakes could be felt in downtown Tokyo.

According to Japan Meteorological Agency, the quake occurred at around 8:59 p.m. local time (11:59 GMT), with an epicenter 80 km underground in northwestern Chiba prefecture.

No tsunami warning was issued. There was also no immediate report of casualties or damages.
