US immigration for redesigning of US Green Card
by Mary Jones - May 18, 2010
United States, 18th May: US Citizenship and Immigration Services will now have a new and secure format of the US green card by getting it redesigned.

The new redesigned format of the US green card or US permanent resident card will have several new security features incorporated into it to shield it against tampering, counterfeiting and such related immigration frauds. Moreover, the changes will also help in true authentication of the US green card.
The latest initiative by US immigration is part of several reforms in the US immigration laws.
Another advantage of the new format of the US green card designed by the US immigration department, USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services) includes rapid identification of the US green card holder due to the biometrics stored in the new redesigned card.
According to Dahlia Walker-Huntington, a Jamaican US based immigration lawyer, it will be almost impossible to reproduce the US green card due to high-resolution tiny images, laser-engraved fingerprints and holographic images on the card.
Moreover, it will become possible to read and even compare the card to file records from a far-off distance by Customs officers at various entry ports due to the new Radio Frequency Identification quality of the new US green card. So, it will be difficult to cheat agents of US Customs and Border Protection.
The card now has original green color and is in circulation already, added Walker-Huntington. The process of mailing of the new US green card to all those who are legal US permanent residents started on May 10 by the US DHS (Department of Homeland Security)
Those in possession of old US green cards will need to apply for either renewal of their old card or replacing the old with the new US green card which is actually green now.
The US Green Card has been manufactured and designed by LaserCard Corporation, one of the leading secure ID solution providers in the US. As per a prior announced contract with the DHS, LaserCard has been sending huge volumes of new US green card to the US Home office for several months.
The US Green Card gives a legal authority to all card holders to live and work in the US.
