Tightening of Rules regarding settling issues of skilled workers in UK

In order to control the immigration numbers the authorities are further looking to tighten the rules of immigration for those who wants to settle in the country

During the previous year around 84,000 skilled foreign workers were given permits to settle down in the country, the authorities says that in future it needs to be controlled and such people will have to be in country for more than 5 years for any chances of getting permanent residence. It is in contrary to the previous rules which gives the foreign worker to gain its permanent residence permit if the one is staying in country for 5 years.

Ministers feel that by this they will be able to reduce the immigrant figures significantly of around ten thousands will be reduced to mere thousands.

The Plan:
The plan is working to restrict the number of experts or skilled people to stay permanently in the country. They will be allowed to come in work and then go back to their native regions.

They are concentrating on breaking the link between the migrations to the country and settling here. They will clearly outline that the one coming on temporary basis should not easily be switched to the permanent one.

Immigration minister of the country Damien Green is working on for setting up the time limit for the immigrants coming so that they do not have a chance to bring their dependents in the country and increase the figure.

The home secretary of the country commented on the situation that the tier two point based visa holders should be welcomed in the country only on temporary basis and should restrict them from being as permanent residents. They are favoring that only the one tier visa holders that is the investors or the business persons to stay in the country permanently.

Also according to the authority reduction in the number of migrants does not only mean restricting the people from coming in but also the immigrants should leave after their total stay in the country.

According to paper published by the Home Office consultation it says that ministers are looking for the rules for restricting the way through will rich families are allowed to bring domestic workers to the country. They wish to limit their time period in country and also stop allowing them to bring their dependent family members.

And even those who want to stay, they are also figuring out new English test for the adults within 12 months which will confirm that they are eligible to live in the country.

The authorities are hoping that these changes will help them preventing more immigrants coming to UK. They will also be reviewing the rules for those immigrants who come to UK on the basis of family ground.
