Shrink in Number of Foreign Students expected-States Report

New hard visa rules may shun the foreign students from coming to the UK Universities; this may also lead to shift in their preferences from UK to other countries.

As according to a recent report, Education: A Great British Export, throws the light on the subject according to which the changes in visa rules for foreign students may lead to deterioration in the number of students. The situation is alarming not only for the top education institution and universities but also for the export industry in all together. It would not only harm the current situation but also may have to suffer high economical losses by the year 2025.
Drawback of Hard Rules:
Tightening of rules has put the UK education system under highly threatening position. Experts states that this may lead to foreign students to divert their ways to other destinations. According to the recently studied facts, it has been found that students have been already shifting to the other higher education destinations for institutes and universities in countries like U.S, Australia and Canada.
According to the recent research conducted by the U.S. Institute of International Education, around 1 per cent of the slump has already been recorded in the number of students opting for UK Educational students for their higher studies. Such a trend is expected to continue according to the prevailing conditions.
Analyzing new policy:
As per an authority from the government states that the rules are not actually to prevent students from coming to study here, but this is rather followed so that they should not stay back to work and settle here.
Even the report experts acknowledge the fact that government is working commendably to stop the foreign immigrants who used to misuse the rules and regulations of the country. The new step may help to stop such foreigners to maintain the integrity of the system.
But according to them it should not hamper the genuine students to come and study, as this will adversely affect the whole education system of the country. Another author, Graham Able, head Dulwich College, London during the year 2009 feels and support that it is very important for the Britain Universities to attract foreign students and carry on with the current growing student rate. But if new rules hamper this may lead to loss of big education market in the hands of other countries.
As per a general view experts are happy with the tightening of visa rules to reduce the number of immigrants coming to settle in the country on the other hand they supports the view that student visas should not be curbed as it may leave adverse mark on the country’s education system.
