A Queens Hospital in Flushing launched a comprehensive version of its mobile website expanding its reach to millions of people across New York. It has been in the news lately and brought joy and cheer to the citizens of New York. The wait is finally over.

The website, www.nyhq.org has posted its entire content on this website to apprise the people of the wide scope of services that it offers. Mobile phone users can easily access this site and know the facilities provided by the hospital.
One of the most significant features of this website on the mobile is that the content is multi-lingual. The access to the hospital would be easier and patients and visitors would be able to reach within minutes. As per Cynthia Bacon, the Director of Public Affairs at the hospital expressed the view that with the phenomenal increase in mobile traffic, a decision was taken to formulate something that was considerably easy to use and read.
This swell in mobile traffic indicates that the immigrant communities residing in Flushing are totally dependent on their mobile phones to look for health care services. Further, destitute immigrants and new residents would be able to get the latest information on health services on their mobile phones in their own languages that would make it easier for them to understand.
The one and only of its kind for a Queens Hospital, it is the latest mobile platform enabling people to look for doctors, view their photographs, their qualifications, locations of their and ring them up in the directory. The ability to make appointments online is dependent on the doctors.
This mobile platform is segregated in six groups that image the entire site including patient and visitor information, locating a doctor, services and facilities as well as research and education along with classes and events. The website can be accessed in Spanish, Chinese and Korean besides English. According to Bacon, the creation of these categories was done two years back with the assistance provided by the residents.
This mobile platform is developed by Connect Healthcare based in Atlanta, reputed for its specialization in web marketing for hospitals. The internet services were offered by Greystone.net also from Atlanta known for its ability to track the hospital website traffic and offer its improvisation advice. Andrew Roberts, Director of Analytics at Greystone.net cited that the normal percentage in any hospital in the country is around 7 per cent, however around 15 per cent of the patients visiting Queens Hospital emanate from mobile devices.
Prior to the redesigning, the hospital website received almost 3000 visitors every month through mobile devices, which doubled in two years time and expect that this number will also increase substantially in times to come.
