Increased Australia work opportunities for Indian students
Australia, 3rd June: Here comes welcoming news for Indian students in Australia.
It’s official. Australia is offering increased work opportunities for Indian students. This is being done in the wake of recent decline in the value of rupee.
Unlimited Australian work hours for Indian students--As per the information, Indian students will be given unlimited work opportunities in terms of weekly work hours in Australia. The latest step by the Australian government is to help Indian students cope up with increased living costs due to falling value of rupee against the Australian dollar. This will help Indian students earn more by working more in Australia.
Additional work options for Indian students--Apart from unlimited work hours in Australia, Indian students will now get additional options of work in Australia. This was revealed by consul general for South India, David Holly (Australian consulate in India (Chennai). Flexible options for work in Australia will be offered to research and postgraduate students, he quipped. This will help them earn more while studying in Australia, he maintained.
There are nearly 70,000 Indians studying in Australia. And the number of Indians coming here has been going up despite a recent decline in the value of Indian rupee as compared to dollar.
This is due to the fact that other nations have not introduced any such steps to help Indian students. So, low value of Indian rupee has left Indian students struggle in other foreign nations. Current value of Indian rupee against the US dollar is as low as 54.46.
Scholarship program for Indian students in 2013—Indian students will be offered scholarships for doctoral program in Victoria next year. This was revealed by Victorian government. For year 2012, a total of 10 Indian applicants were provided scholarships. Out of these, six hailed from Tamil Nadu.
