As the green lottery system is a Diversity Visa Lottery through which the aspirants from all over the world to come and settle US gets a chance to come and stay in the country. It is a randomly selected through lottery system out from those who applied for the lottery. Each year around 1, 00,000 aspirants apply and through lottery system as much of around 50, 000 aspirants are allowed through the proper system in the country and is given permanent residents status.
Usually only citizens of those country is only allowed who don’t have high number of nationals in US unlike citizens of countries like India, Philippines are not allowed to participate and from any country not more than 7 per cent of chosen people are eligible. The system is so popular that in previous year was recording breaking around 15 million applied under the lottery system.

The actual mistake happened this year was that the chosen aspirants these were those who had applied in the first two the others were not considered due to the computers mistake.
But after this recent incident there is doubt in the minds of the law people to stop it or still continue with it. Now it is considered to be reviewed because as the unemployment is high in the country but the adding of 50, 000 immigrants would be an extra burden on the country and its economy.
But there are people who support this system and finds that coming in through this system is quiet as they are allowed to enter only after proper measures are taken, there is very less scope of fraud in it by them.
Experts feel that the immigrants have helped the economy to grow, now stopping this system will may adversely affect the immigration and also the economy of the country.
