We need immigrants for jobs they have been doing since long

At a time when many workers are claiming that they are loosing out to immigrants for jobs, one must consider the benefits that are brought by immigrant workers when they move to the UK.
The economy continues to struggle and most of us are simply looking for someone to blame. Unfortunately, most of these people have blamed immigrant workers for the rising unemployment levels in the UK. But the fact is that immigrant workers are one of the primary reasons behind the country enjoying years of prosperity.
In particular, if immigrants stop coming to work in the UK, the construction and service industries would simply stop functioning. Workers from Eastern Europe have contributed considerably to the economy in recent years, so instead of creating discrimination against these hard-working people, we shall rather be concerned about the fact that they are moving to Australia, Canada or going back home.
This mass departure is taking place because of the fall in the value of sterling and the current economic crash. Thus, the UK no longer remains as an attractive destination as it once was a place for immigrants where they could find plenty of highly paid work. So what we can now do in order to get out of this recession is try to entice the immigrants back to do the jobs that they have been doing since long for us.
However, the portrayal by the media of the latest debate involving the wild cat strikes among power station workers might hamper UK immigration in future and its reputation in general.
