I contacted a person named Rick Larson who promised me to provide work permits to Canada for 105 of my clients. He asked for a payment of US $150 per client which I paid to him. The person promised me that the processing time for the applications would be no more than two weeks. But now, it’s been several months I have been waiting for a result, but all that he is sending me is fake information. Annoyed with all this, I asked him to refund my money because it was evident that he was a cheater. What this whole incident also resulted was problems from the 105 clients who are asking for their money.
At the end of all, Rick Larson neither provided me any documents not did he refund my money. What I discovered later was that he was using fake address for his company as it turned out that the address was of a Chinese restaurant.
I have shared this because I do not want others to suffer. There are quite a few scammers who act as legal immigration agents and can even provide you legal work permits for many countries. But the fact is that they are not authorized immigration agents and should be avoided. I have stated below some things that might help you to avoid these frauds-
1. Be careful as these agents will make you believe hat they can easily provide a work permit for your clients and will take the application fee in advance. But most of them do not ask for detailed information about the applicants, like their resume, certification, education, or work experience. This information is extremely important while seeking work visa.
2. When you are applying for a visa via a foreign agency, you must make sure that the agent is genuine. For doing this, you can check with the Canadian government to ascertain if the agent you are dealing with is an authorized immigration agent or not.
3. You should also check the background details of you prospective business partners, which can be done with the help of the Canada Postal Code Address Look Up service. This would make sure whether the address provided by he company is genuine or not. You can also search the same on the internet as well.
4. Do proper investigation on probable business partners to make sure you are not one of the victims of internet fraud.
