Prospective Canadian citizens who are rich will be welcoming the Canadian immigration moves that aimed at expanding the immigrant investor program of Canada, in an attempt to help the country overcome the economic crash.
Canada’s minister of citizenship, immigration and multiculturalism, Jason Kenney, said that the move is intended to benefit the Canadian economy and said that the Canadian government would soon announce the changes in the immigrant investor program of Canada so that it could be better controlled as a source of capital inflows into the country in these times of recession.
He said that the changes will make the program more attractive for foreign investors who are looking towards Canada through this route, and it will also be profitable for the Canadian government.
The program enables prospective immigrants to acquire permanent residency in Canada by making an investment of $400,000 for a period of five years.
According to experts on the issue, these changes are expected to be attractive especially to the immigrants from India. Industry onlookers are saying that the program has already started attracting more numbers of investors from India.
One of the immigration expert explained that the Canadian permanent residency rights which are acquired through this investment category are very attractive for Indian individuals who have high net worth as they have very few limitations. He also said that even the children of investor category immigrants can be benefited from the preferential fees in educational institutions in Canada.
