Immigrants falling prey in hands of fake consultants.

After a three- month of investigation across many countries, a House of Commons committee came up with the conclusion that thousands of immigrants fall prey in hands of unlicensed immigration consultants.
A report by Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration has conveyed that a self-regulatory body which was set up four years back to deal with the fake consultants proved to be unsuccessful and incapable. The report suggests replacement of this body by a government body that has all the power to reach and chase deceitful consultants.
The report which came a year after the three-part star investigation conveyed that the real problem lies in the prevailing system which is full of loopholes. There is no investigation on the license of consultants, and taking it as advantage, anyone can act as an immigration consultant without any fear. The tar series also brought to notice that out of 6,000 consultants operating in Canada, only 1,000 belong to Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants.
Many hopeful and eligible immigrants get trapped in the fake promises of these unworthy consultants, who charge about $10,000 or more. The government must take initiative from his end as the department is not able to put it under control.
